Both the drive through and walkabout have animal feeding opportunities. 400-acre wildlife park that exhibits some of the rarest animals in the world to promote awareness and conservation. Countryside roads to drive your vehicle through the park and safari tour vehicles with park field guides narrating and educating riders. Also, while at Explorer’s Retreat, don’t forget to visit the Hatari Trading

Post (giftshop), Barnyard Experience (petting zoo), Mining/Panning Station to reveal beautiful stones, fossils and arrowheads found in the sediment of each bag. In the retreat area we also have a snowball stand (New Orleans style), Wallaby Watering Hole, Bongo Bistro with an assortment of treats and great food. And last but not least, the Giraffe Feeding Platform where you can meet and feed Puzzles who is the star of the show and photobombs every pic on the platform.

Hatari Wildlife Park is an excellent place for social distancing while enjoying quality family time and nature.

⏰Open 9:00 am, entry closes at 4:00 pm, but guests in the park can remain and enjoy till 5:30 pm.

In the retreat area, we also have a Food Trailer with an assortment of great food & treats. And last but not least, the Giraffe Feeding Platform where you can meet and feed Puzzles, who is, of course, the star of the show, and photobombs every pic on the platform.

We also have a picnic area for outside food brought in.

Park will be open to regular admission also on that day.

⏰Also, Santa & his awesome Elf will be on the zebra bench December 11-12, 18-19 & 23 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm. Santa goes back to the North Pole on December 25 and will no longer be available. Great phone photo opportunities!
December 23 will be your last day to visit Santa & his entertaining Elf at the park.

🦎Our reptile encounters are so much fun for the whole family, with no additional cost to view or participate in. Our reptile professional is very knowledgeable, and she works well with the kids.

It's an event you won't want to miss. So make a day of it, starting with a safari bus tour, lunch, and an incredible reptile encounter.

The reptile encounter is free once you have entered the park with a purchased pass.

To ensure you're here on time, we recommend arriving an hour early as you must drive through the safari park to the parking lot at Explorer's Retreat. Therefore, arriving at least an hour ahead of the encounter is advised.

⏰There is only one encounter on Saturday, 1:30 pm-2:30 pm.

🎉Feeling festive and in a charitable mood this season?
Join our Santa Walk Saturday, December 11, to raise money to fulfill a child's gift wish!
We'll all be putting on our Santa suits and strolling the elevated boardwalk for this charitable event. It's a 1k walk in your favorite Santa suit. So gather with fellow Santas for a great cause and enjoy a beautiful park at the same time.

🏵Help raise money for The Sanctuary Foster Care Services – Clear Lake Branch to light up a child's Christmas. Proceeds raised will go to buying, wrapping, and fulfilling a child's Christmas. We will be posting pics of the whole process as it unfolds.

🎅The Santa Walk tickets are sold separately from a regular park day pass. 50% of the proceeds from these tickets will go to the cause.

⏰The event is between 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. But you can gather your group up between those times to start at your convenience. Park opens at 9:00 am, the last vehicle entry is at 4:00 pm, and the park closes at 5:30 pm. So, stick around and enjoy the park for the rest of the day.

🗞Tickets give you full access to the park that day, a custom Santa hat, and opportunities to take pics with Santa and his little elf, who will be visiting early from the North Pole.

🦒Additionally, there are opportunities to feed the giraffe and even snuggle a goat buddy for a bit of fur friend therapy.

🚌Drive your vehicle thru the park or reserve a safari tour bus ticket, take advantage of the beautiful boardwalk walkabout, get a bite to eat and a cold beverage to enjoy the festivities.

⛺️Our little village called Explorer's Retreat hosts an assortment of things to do, including panning for incredible gemstones, fossils, or arrowheads.
