We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a substantial $500,000 Community-wide Brownfield Grant from the USEPA!
This incredible grant will enable us to revitalize and transform brownfield sites within our community, bringing new life and purpose to previously underutilized or contaminated areas. With this financial support, we will be able to take significant steps towards redevelopment efforts at Weirton Frontier Crossings (former Weirton Steel property) to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for our region. At the BDC, we strongly believe in responsible redevelopment, and this grant is a testament to our dedication.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the USEPA Region III and Adam Ortiz, Mid-Atlantic regional administrator for the USEPA for their trust, partnership, and support. Their commitment to fostering innovation and environmental stewardship has made recent new business announcements such as Pure Watercraft, Form Energy, Gruppo Fanti, and so many others possible.
