10/20/2026

This morning at 4:42 Tanker and Squad 12 responded with stations 9,23 to a structure fire off Hess road in Georgetown. Engine 9 arrived to find a small home 25% involved and made an aggressive interior attack. Tanker 12 supplied Engine 9 with water and Squad 12 assisted with fire operations. No injuries were reported.

Yesterday afternoon at 5:45 Tanker and Squad 12 responded with stations 6, 23, & 11 to a mobile home fire off Tupelo drive in San Mateo. Engine 6 arrived to find a double wide mobile home fully involved with an out building also burning. They started the fire attack. Engine 23 arrived next and supplied engine 6 with their water and assisted with operations. Engine 11 was told upon arrival to reverse lay a supply line from the scene down a long driveway out to a dirt access road. Tanker 12 was the first tanker on scene and we dropped our dump tank at Engine 11 so they could draft our water. Tanker 23 was next to arrive driven by one of station 12 members and started a tanker shuttle. Four more tankers were dispatched 3,9,21,22 and they assisted with the tanker shuttle. The fire required approximately 30,000 gallons of water before we were done. We were on scene until after 10 pm.
No injuries were reported both the mobile home and out building were a total loss.

Yesterday afternoon Woods and Tanker 12 responded with station 9, Forestry and Woods 3 to a brush fire on Oak Run in Fruitland. The fire was contained within a few hours and no structures were damaged. The flames you see in one photo are where Foresty has started a back fire to burn out the existing fuel to prevent the fire from jumping the fire lines.

Last night at 10:00 SQUAD 12 responded with Engines 3,9,23,6,11 RESCUES 3,23 and District 73 to a residential structure fire in Crescent City off Cedar Street. Engine 3 on scene first found smoke coming from the building. District 73 assumed command and had heavy fire in the attic. Water was supplied to Engine 3 from a hydrant by Engine 9 The occupants self evacuated and no injuries were reported. Squad 12 assisted with fire operations.

09/11/2026

Yesterday morning,Squad 12 responded to the Welaka boat ramp to a vehicle in the water. Squad 12 found a pickup truck a with boat trailer attached completely submerged. The passenger self evacuated and no injuries were reported. The truck and trailer were recovered by a private towing company.

Yesterday afternoon Tanker and Woods 12 responded with station 9, 23 and district 73 to a woods fire in Georgetown. Tanker 12 supplied water and Woods 12 assisted with fire suppression. No injuries were reported.

08/13/2026

Last night at 7:30 squad and Tanker 12 responded with Engines 23,9,11,3 Rescues 3,23 Tanker9 and District 73 ES 02,04,05. To a mobile home and vehicle fire in Pomona Park off of Magnolia street.
District 73 arrived to find the mobile home and vehicle were fully involved with multiple exposures. Engines 3 and 9 initiated attack with multiple lines. Tanker 12 was first water supply at scene and supplied water to the engines while setting up their dump tank to start a tanker shuttle with tanker 9.
We had four of Station 12’s personnel on scene to assist with all operations. No injuries were reported and the exposures were undamaged.

07/16/2026

This afternoon Squad 12 responded to a lawnmower on fire on Front street in Welaka. Upon arrival the mower was fully involved with no exposures. Squad 12 extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.

07/05/2026

We had a very busy 4th. First, Squad and Tanker 12 responded with Stations 9,23,6 and 11 to a commercial structure fire at the Ace Hardware store in Fruitland. The fire was caused by a lightning strike and caused significant damage to the ceiling. Tanker 12 supplied water and Squad 12 assisted with the fire attack. While continuing to work that fire Squad 12 was released to respond to a brush fire on Hwy 17 near Paradise Shores. The fire was deep in the woods and was contained after stretching an extremely long hose to access the fire.
At 9:45 we were dispatched to a brush fire with Engine 23 on Old Shell Harbor rd. Engine 23 cancelled the Tanker before it left the station but at that time a structure fire was dispatched in Saratoga Harbor on Lakeview Dr. The fire was in a basement of a log home. This is unusual for Florida and causes a unique situation as fire can be below the firefighters as well as around and above. The fire was contained to the basement after a quick knock down by Engine 23. Tanker 12 deployed our dump tank and provided water to Engine 23. The family pet dog was rescued and revived with oxygen. Unfortunately, the two cats found in the home could not be saved. Throughout the day we had 5 of our members respond to these calls.

Yesterday afternoon Tanker 12 responded with station 9 District 73 and forestry to a woods fire on Fern lane the fire was brought under control within two hours.
Then at 8:30 last night Squad and Tanker 12 responded with station 9,3 District 73 and forestry to a woods fire off Clear Lake. Upon arrival we found a two story structure in a heavily wooded area endangered with the building’s dock and kennel already engulfed. We spent four hours protecting the structure and containing the spread.
