Now Hiring: Drug-Free Communities Coordinator

The McDowell County Commission on Aging is seeking a motivated individual to serve as our Drug-Free Communities Coordinator. This full-time position pays $36,000 per year and requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

The coordinator’s work will focus on:
Youth engagement and mentoring
Coalition development
Substance-use prevention initiatives
Media and educational content development
Community outreach and partnership building

Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are preferred.

The McDowell County Sheriffs Office has been made aware of an incident where a citizen received a phone call stating that they had missed federal jury duty. The citizen was then directed to pay a fine over the phone or face arrest.

THIS IS A SCAM , THE MCDOWELL COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE WILL NEVER CALL YOU BY PHONE AND REQUEST MONEY.
