🔥 𝙁𝙄𝙍𝙀 𝘿𝘼𝙉𝙂𝙀𝙍 𝙇𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙇 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙂𝙀 - 𝙎𝘼𝙏𝙐𝙍𝘿𝘼𝙔, 𝘼𝙐𝙂𝙐𝙎𝙏 𝟮𝟮 🔥

Effective 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) North Cascade District will move from EXTREME to HIGH Fire Danger for Public Use Restrictions and staying at Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL) 2.

While conditions have improved enough to move out of Extreme Fire Danger, vegetation remains dry and susceptible to ignition. Please continue to use extra caution with any activity that could spark a wildfire and follow all current fire season restrictions.

🔥 High Fire Danger does not mean low fire danger. Wildfires can still start easily and spread quickly under the right conditions.

We want to take a moment to say a big thank you to all of the community members who have stopped by with donations for our firefighters. ❤️🚒

Today, we received a whole truckload of donated supplies, and we continue to be incredibly grateful for the generosity and support our community has shown.

From drinks and snacks to personal care items and other thoughtful supplies, every donation is appreciated and helps support crews during long days and busy stretches of fire season.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, helped collect supplies, shared information, or simply reached out to show your support. It means more than you know, and we are very fortunate to serve such a caring community.

Thank you for taking care of our firefighters while they work to take care of you. ❤️

EVACUATION UPDATE – LEVEL 1 LIFTED

The Level 1 – BE READY evacuation notice has been lifted for the Mount Hood corridor, from Rhododendron east through Government Camp and surrounding areas of the Mount Hood National Forest.

At this time, these areas are no longer under an evacuation level.

Thank you to everyone for staying informed and prepared. Please continue to use caution and stay up to date as conditions can change.

DON’T BE SCARED. BE PREPARED.

LEVEL 1 means BE READY, not go now.

If you are in a Level 1 evacuation area, you do not need to evacuate right now.
Level 1 means conditions could change, so this is the time to prepare:
• Make an evacuation plan and identify more than one route
• Gather medications, identification, and essential supplies
• Make sure your vehicle is ready to go
• Prepare pets and livestock for possible evacuation
• Check on neighbors who may need additional help
• Stay tuned to official updates

If conditions worsen, you will receive a Level 2: BE SET or Level 3: GO NOW notice. Stay tuned to official information channels for updates.

Fire danger continues to increase across our area, and the Oregon Department of Forestry’s North Cascade District is moving to IFPL 2 and Extreme Public Use Restrictions.

Please take a few minutes to review the updated restrictions in the shared post below.

Under Extreme Public Use Restrictions, prohibited activities include recreational fires, non-industrial chainsaw use, off-road motorized vehicles, cutting/grinding/welding of metal, mowing or cutting dried grass, and other spark-emitting internal combustion engines.

These restrictions are in place for a reason. With conditions this dry, one spark can quickly become a wildfire.

Please help us keep our communities and surrounding forests safe by knowing the restrictions, following them, and sharing this information with others who may be heading outdoors. 🔥🌲
