Congratulations, Wellesley! 81 percent approval for Hardy and 79 percent approval for Hunnewell. The town is on track for two new schools by 2024. Thank you, voters!

Just 7 more hours left to vote!! It appears that turnout is relatively light. Did you know that in 2005, elementary Spanish lost by just 17 votes, and did not get added back into Wellesley’s curriculum until 9 years later? GO VOTE and REMIND YOUR FRIENDS! ✅✅

This frequently asked question has a simple answer: the Massachusetts School Building Authority, which is providing partial funding for a new Hardy school, requires that project to be funded separately with its own ballot question. Despite this technicality, it’s important for voters to understand that voting YES TWICE is the only way to meet our K-5 students’ educational needs and finally resolve the significant problems with the HHU facilities. ✅✅

Had a great time today visiting with Hardy parents to discuss the importance of rebuilding both Hardy and Hunnewell for our town’s young learners! We are meeting with as many residents as possible —virtual or face-to-face — before it is time to Vote YES on December 7!

10/27/2021

We are thrilled to report that Town Meeting overwhelmingly passed articles tonight supporting the new Hunnewell and new Hardy schools! Save the date for the special town-wide election on DECEMBER 7 to approve these projects and get two new schools online by 2024! Much more to come, but tonight, we celebrate. 🎉 Thank you Wellesley Town Meeting!
