Born in Haiti and later raised and educated in Boston, Dorothy Theodore was driven into the world of art, fashion, and glamour since she was the age of 5. Dorothy was the one who shared a passion for taking frequent shopping trips with her cousin, where her cousin would stand mesmerized by the store gowns. Feeling inspired, Dorothy would return home to sketch her very own versions of the gowns for
her cousin, and she would have it custom made for her at local shops, and dream of one day becoming a designer. Dorothy's journey of exploring and challenging the world of art began in her high school years, where she received an art scholarship. She received a Cosmetology certificate as a hair stylist and make up artist. She continued to broaden her different talents after graduating from Chamberlaine School of Design (MT Ida College) with a double major BA degree in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising, where she was awarded the Best Senior of the year. Dorothy began her career as an assistant fashion designer at Boston's fashion houses such as Yolanda, Antonio Ansaldi Clothing, Ana Hernandez Bridal, and Pricilla of Boston, and managed some retail stores such as Jones New York, The Childrenās Place, and Motherhood Maternity. In 2000, Dorothy launched her first fashion house showcasing her bridal collection and retail boutique selling ready-to-wear fashion. She styled her clients with the latest fashion trends from New York's best designers. After 5 years of success, Dorothy sold her business and she put her passion for fashion on hold to focus on her family. Her years of experience in the fashion industry has given her the knowledge and skills to be successful in every facet of the industry. Dorothy still felt the need to follow her dream of becoming a designer, she was destined to become a designer. Driven by her passion for creativity, she has created the ETERNITE Fashion Apparel line for the on-the-go professional. Also a nurse, she was inspired by the environment, and showed respect for the environment by using natural fibers and sustainable environmentally eco-friendly fabrics to help raise global awareness. Since those designs were originally made for the medical world, her goal is to have the medical world meet with the fashion world. She designs beautiful separates which include tops, bottoms, pants, t-shirts, and skirts that can be worn by anyone - she creates clothes for both the inside and the outside of the medical world. In her free time, she sketches (her illustrations have been published on t-shirts, etc.), paints, and travels the world with her children. During those years raising her children, she managed to earned a degree in Register Nursing because she likes to offer her time to those that touch her personality. Since becoming a mother herself, her life has become child focused. Her goal is to cooperate her love for fashion with her humanitarian work. Regards,
Dorothy Theodore
