Schofield Elementary School

Schofield Elementary School Safe! Thoughtful! Accepting! Respectful! One of seven elementary schools in the Wellesley Public Sch The culture of a community is defined by its values.

The Wellesley Public Schools core values are Commitment to Excellence, Cooperative and Caring Relationships, Respect for Human Differences and Commitment to Community. In addition to the core values of Wellesley Public Schools, the Schofield community is also defined by guiding principles of open honest communication, high expectations, relationships which are based upon trust and mutual respect,

shared responsibility, and commitment to maintaining a warm, safe, supportive and nurturing environment. The Schofield community reflects each of these core values and guiding principles in a variety of ways. At Schofield, staff, students and parents work together to create and maintain a positive and enriching environment for children to learn and grow. Parent involvement and communications between home and school receive top priority. The Schofield community benefits in many ways from an active and supportive Schofield PTO. Some of these benefits include significant physical improvements such as the new playground and renovated inner courtyard. Other enhancements are ongoing throughout each year. For example, the Creative Arts Committee provides many wonderful events to enhance the curriculum, as well as a Science Residency across K-5. The Schofield community is very proud of the child centered environment which exists at Schofield, an environment where each child is accepted as an individual, and challenged to learn and grow in a manner which is respectful of each child’s individual learning style.

It felt appropriate to have our annual flag raising ceremony today on September 11th. Our fifth graders, under Mr. Polletto’s leadership, did a great job of raising our flag to half staff today while we reminded and encouraged students to be STAR students. It was nice to have some families stick around after drop off to join us for this event.
