What an incredible and harrowing day. Approximately 125 dolphins stranded in the gut, thank you to all of those who called it in this morning, along with IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) and Wellfleet Police Department.
We worked alongside some of the most dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate volunteers from IFAW herding the dolphins after the tide gave them room to swim to safe waters.
Seeing these amazing animals up close and personal is truly something else, and we are all undoubtedly grateful for the efforts of all those involved in this to preserve and protect these animals from incidents such as this.
The work is never done, as a reminder:
Here is the hotline for IFAW marine mammal rescue:
(508) 743-9548
Here is the Marie Animal Entanglement Hotline (NOAA):

Center for Coastal Studies Entanglement Hotline:

While we may be smiling in our photos at the beauty of the day and our lovely IFAW volunteer company, the grave reality is that Cape Cod is a hotspot for strandings, especially Wellfleet.
If you see an animal in distress, say something. There are resources and passionate volunteers who want to help.
