Meet our Chamber Board President, Zach Cooper!
For the past three years, Zach has been involved with the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB, and his reason for getting involved is simple: he wanted to be more active in his community and help share all the great things happening right here in Wellington.
As Board President, one of Zach’s favorite parts of serving is the people. From meetings to community events, he’s had the opportunity to meet so many incredible individuals who make this community what it is.
When he’s not wearing his Chamber hat, Zach serves as the Director of the Cowley College - Sumner Campus, assists his wife at their veterinary clinic - Arrowhead Animal Clinic, when needed, keeps bees, helps with 4-H Shooting Sports, and, most importantly.. spoils their daughter and newborn son.❤️
When asked what he loves most about Wellington, Zach said, “The people.” He believes everyone has a story and a passion for what they do, and that passion can be contagious. Encouraging others to dream a little bigger and look toward the stars. ⭐
His favorite local tradition? Fall Fest! 🍂🏈 Cooler weather, football season, friends, family, and a chance to slow down and enjoy the community.
Zach believes supporting local businesses is essential because they help build the foundation of a strong community. When local businesses disappear, we lose a piece of the community with them.
Looking ahead, he hopes to see more revitalization and utilization of the structures and buildings that have sat empty, creating new opportunities and continuing to build on Wellington’s future.
What keeps him involved? His children, their future and the future of the generations that come after them.
To Zach, community means supporting, helping, and simply being there for the people around you in countless different ways. And one thing his time on the Chamber Board has taught him? No idea is too big or too small to bring to the table. You never know what one idea might spark.
