Huge Thanks to Our Community & Partners! 🚑

What an incredible turnout! We want to extend a massive THANK YOU to the 72 volunteers who came out to the fairgrounds to act as victims and bystanders for our mock Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training.

Training scenarios like this are only as realistic as the people who help us bring them to life. Having such a diverse group of community members—spanning all ages—gave our first responders invaluable, real-world experience in triage assessment, patient movement, and rapid decision-making.

We also want to recognize and thank the four participating agencies who joined forces with Wellington Fire to make this multi-jurisdictional exercise a complete success. Seamless teamwork between departments is vital during a real emergency, and exercises like tonight’s ensure we are always ready to protect our community together.

To everyone who spent their evening with us (and shared a meal afterward): you made our community safer tonight!
Thank you for your time, dedication, and support! 👏

ATTENTION VOLUNTEERS!

For tonight's scenario, please park inside the fairgrounds, but away from the grandstands and first couple of barns. The open area near barn 19 is great, along the midway is fine! Please meet under the pavilion behind the grandstands to get your assignments and instructions. See you soon!!!!

Folks, we're looking for some volunteers!

Wellington Fire, along with other surrounding departments, will be hosting a mock Mass Casualty Incident training on Wednesday, July 22nd. We are looking for volunteer role players to act as victims in a mock mass casualty incident. You can expect to play injured parties or bystanders. First responders will be performing triage assessments and moving patients with backboards or other patient moving equipment. There are no age restrictions. Actually, a variation in age would be better!

Should be about 2 hours starting at about 6 pm.

We will feed all participants!

If you're interested, please send in a message for additional details. If you'd like to discuss any questions or concerns, please contact Lieutenant Mike Barlow at (216) 470-5171 or Lieutenant Kenny Knapp at (440) 315-8387.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

If you’ve not heard, we may have a bit of a heat wave heading our way. Please stay cautious of the weather in your local area and most importantly STAY HYDRATED this upcoming week. Use this weekend to stock up on your favorite electrolytes and assure you have all of the proper tools to maintain a nice cool temperature indoors when possible. If a power outage occurs, keep a look out on our page for local cooling shelters!
