Tonight, members of the Wells River Fire Department were invited to the Grafton County Department of Corrections for a tour of the facility and an opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the layout of the building and the locations of critical firefighting equipment including the FDC, sprinkler room, fire hydrants, and alarm panel.

During the visit, we also discussed various “what if” scenarios and the unique challenges that could arise during an emergency incident in a secured facility. Trainings and walkthroughs like this are invaluable in helping ensure a safe and coordinated response for both responders and facility staff.

We would like to thank the staff at the Grafton County Department of Corrections for welcoming us into your facility and giving us a better understanding of the important work and daily challenges faced by Corrections Officers. We appreciate the opportunity to train together and strengthen the partnership between our agencies.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Andrew Cross and the Morrill Fire department after yesterday’s tragic fire in Maine. Andrew answered the call and gave it all. Rest in peace you will never be forgotten.

• 3 motor vehicle accidents
• 3 smoke detector activations
• 1 mutual aid structure fire

I'm a little late getting this out there but, I want to thank each and every firefighter who is or has been on our fire department. You all give the best of yourself whenever called to duty. Many things have changed since I first joined in 1972 and mostly for the good but one that hasn't is the dedication that goes into being a firefighter. Stand proud you all have earned this recognition!
Happy International Firefighters Day.

Today we were invited to a lunch hosted by the Woodsville high school JAG program. Thank you so much for the invite and the opportunity for us to share our experiences and what it means to give back to the community! Oh and the meal was top notch!

🚒🔥 WHS JAG Celebrates Our Local Firefighters 🔥🚒Today, Woodsville High School’s JAG New Hampshire program proudly recognized our local fire department in honor of International Firefighters’ Day. Our students had the chance to share a meal together, sit down, and have real conversations with the firefighters—learning firsthand about their experiences, their work, and what it means to serve the community. It was more than just lunch—it was a chance to connect, learn, and say thank you. 👏 We are incredibly grateful for everything our firefighters do to keep our community safe!

We had 10 members take part in some of the training sponsored by Twin State Mutual Aid Fire Association this weekend. This was the 50th year of this school and as always there were some great classes. Hats off to the school committee for your hard work.
