Healthy communities thrive when people have access to reliable local news and information. --- Would you be willing to take a brief survey to help Press Forward Pennsylvania Wilds collect data about living in rural Tioga County and how you access news?

https://tinyurl.com/PFPAWilds
*Survey is open through June 2.

"Press Forward is a national initiative to strengthen local news and ensure communities have access to reliable news and trusted information. Through regional efforts like Press Forward PA Wilds, the program supports local reporters, expands coverage, and helps residents stay informed and connected.

Our first step as a Press Forward chapter is to better understand what sort of news and information people in the PA Wilds currently have, which sources they trust, and what they need. As part of an ongoing listening tour around communities in our nine north central counties, we've also launched a brief on-line survey to gather input from you and your neighbors."

Your Vote is Your Voice and Your Future đź—ł

Let your voice be heard on Tuesday May 19th from 7:00am until 8:00pm. Go to www.tiogacountypa.us to find your polling location or check out the Discover Tioga app! Cast your vote for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Representative in Congress 15th District, Representative in the General Assembly 68th District, Member of the Republican or Democratic State Committee 59th District, and Republican or Democratic Committeeperson.

Be informed by finding a sample of your ballot at the county website as well.

What is a primary election?
Primary elections in Pennsylvania are held on the third Tuesday of May in most years. In presidential years, the primary election is held on the fourth Tuesday of April.

In a primary election, Democrats and Republican voters selects the candidates they want to represent their parties during the November general election.

Pennsylvania has a closed primary system. This means that Republican voters can vote only for Republican candidates and Democratic voters can vote only for Democratic candidates. The candidates who receive the highest number of votes go on to run in the general election .

While voting in a primary election for party nominees is limited to only voters registered as Democratic or Republican, all registered voters can vote in a primary election if the ballot includes any of the following:
a constitutional amendment question,
a ballot question, or
a special election in their district.
