Town of Wellston Police Department Update

At the June 11th, 2026 Town Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved several personnel changes within the Wellston Police Department.

Shawn Stewart has been appointed as Chief of Police after serving as Interim Chief. Additionally, Officer Hinkle was promoted to Assistant Chief, and Giorgi Vincent was hired as a full-time Police Officer.

The Town of Wellston is proud of the dedication and commitment these officers bring to our community. We are pleased to have Chief Stewart, Assistant Chief Hinkle, and Officer Vincent serving our residents and working diligently to keep Wellston safe.

Please join us in congratulating them on their new roles and welcoming Officer Vincent to the department.

We are moving forward with new technology by upgrading to radio meter reading systems! This improvement will allow for faster, more accurate meter readings and better service for our customers.

Benefits of the new system include:�✔️ Improved billing accuracy�✔️ More efficient meter readings�✔️ Faster detection of leaks and water usage issues

Our team is committed to providing reliable service while continuing to modernize and improve operations for our community. We appreciate your patience and support as we begin this transition.
