Book Review by: Amanda Smith

Sooo, I know I'm a bit behind the times, but I finally cracked the cover of the much loved novel Dune by Frank Herbert. I settled in quickly to the now classic sci-fi storyline and enjoyed the character arcs, the layered intrigue, and the open ending for part 2. I struggled some with a 2ish year time jump partway through the novel and felt like there was much unexplored there, but perhaps that's addressed in later novels. I'm looking forward to continuing the books and watching the movies to see how they compare. Have you read the books? Watched the movies? What's your take?

STLS supports 48 libraries across five counties. They’re the reason you can request a book from across the region and have it show up at your branch a few days later. Come thank a librarian on May 30.

Rainbow Revolution, hosted by Cattaraugus-Allegany Liberation Collective, is entering its third year of bringing together community, art, learning, music, and mutual care for an afternoon that’s free and open to everyone.

All workshops and activities are free to attend, the only money you’ll spend is if you choose to shop with one of our LGBTQ+ affirming vendors.

All vendors selling goods are asked to donate any reasonable amount of money to an LGBTQ+ affirming organization instead of a traditional “vendor fee”. This year alone, vendors at Rainbow Revolution have donated over $500 to different LGBTQ+ uplifting orgs!
