Your next chapter is about to begin!

Join us for Freshman Orientation: Welcome to Your Greyhound Era on Friday, August 7 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Step into a school rich in tradition, pride, and opportunity as we kick off a new year and a new era at Welsh High School. You’ll meet teachers, learn the ropes, connect with classmates, and discover what it means to be a Greyhound.

Whether you’re bringing 90s confidence, 80s energy, or 2020s style, there’s one thing that never goes out of fashion at WHS—Greyhound Pride.

The Greyhound family is excited to welcome Ash Cassidy to Welsh High School!

Coach Cassidy will join us as our new Biology Teacher, Head Boys Basketball Coach, and Softball Coach. His passion for education, leadership, and athletics will make a tremendous impact on our students both in the classroom and in competition.

Please join us in giving Coach Cassidy a warm Greyhound welcome as he begins this new chapter at WHS. We can’t wait to see the positive influence he will have on our school community.

🏆❤️ Congratulations to the Welsh High School Cheerleaders on an outstanding week at SCA Cheer Camp! ❤️🏆

The Greyhounds represented Welsh High School with pride, determination, and excellence as they earned:

✨ Large Varsity Home Pom Champions
✨ Overall Camp Champions
✨ Paid Bid to Nationals
✨ 8 All-American Cheerleaders
✨ 1 Dance-Off Champion
✨ 1 outstanding mascot award
✨ Numerous spirit sticks

These accomplishments are a reflection of countless hours of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. Most importantly, our cheerleaders represented WHS with class and sportsmanship throughout the week.

We are incredibly proud of this talented group and their coaches for continuing a tradition of excellence. Congratulations on an amazing camp and best of luck as you prepare for another exciting season!

Yes, the current WHS spirit shirts are the SAME design as last year, and we plan to keep that design for at least the next two school years.

QR codes are available now, and the deadline to order is July 17. This date will ensure your shirts are ready to be picked up at registration.

🔥❤️ BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPION! ❤️🔥

Congratulations to Campbell LeBlanc, Welsh High School incoming Junior, on winning her 2nd consecutive Louisiana High School Rodeo Association Girls Cutting State Championship this week at the LHSRA State Finals!

With this incredible accomplishment, Campbell has also qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo in Lincoln, Nebraska, July 19–25, where she will represent Louisiana on the national stage.

Winning a state title once is impressive…doing it two years in a row is extraordinary!
