Welsh Elementary students will be participating in Rock Your Socks day Monday, March 21st. Students may wear wacky, mismatched socks with their uniform. Thank you!

We are encouraging all 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade parents/guardians to attend this special informational session with Mrs. Baggett, Welsh Elementary's Counselor, on what to expect as our students prepare to take the upcoming LEAP 2025 test. It is sure to be a treat!

Due to the WHS boy's basketball playoff game, all Welsh schools will have an early dismissal this Friday, February 25th. Our early horseshoe dismissal (PK & K) will be at 11:00 am. Regular horseshoe dismissal will immediately follow PK & K horseshoe dismissal at 11:05 a.m. First bus dismissal will be at 11 a.m. and second bus dismissal will be at 11:20 a.m. Go Greyhounds!

WES Parents/Guardians:
Mr. Credeur just sent the following message out regarding school tomorrow: "After conferencing with local weather and police jury officials, we are making the decision to cancel schools tomorrow. Significant rainfall last night and ongoing light rain has produced standing water on bridges and overpasses. Falling morning temperatures in conjunction with standing water and wind gusts up to 30 mph will result in frozen bridges and overpasses which makes transporting students and traveling for employees too dangerous. Although face to face school is canceled, tomorrow, Friday 21, 2022 will be considered a virtual day with virtual educational lessons and interactions provided to all of our students."

If your child used a device in the past for virtual learning days and we have a signed Jeff Davis Device Usage & Responsibility Agreement on file for your child, we are sending a chromebook home with them this afternoon. All chromebooks should be returned on Monday.

If your child needs a chromebook and did not go home with one, please call Mrs. Treme at school, 337-734-2351, sometime before 4 pm this afternoon to arrange for pickup.

WES Parents/Guardians: Based on guidance from the LDOH, Welsh Elementary's 5th grade students will not report to school on Thursday, January 13th and Friday, January 14th. These students should login and utilize Google Classroom to complete virtual assignments.

All other students in grades Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th should report to school tomorrow and Friday as normal.
