Victim Identified from Homicide Investigation

Our investigation continues related to the homicide that occurred on May 30th, 2026. As we reported earlier today, a juvenile male from Wenatchee was arrested on June 5th, and booked for Murder in the 1st degree.

Through the course of this investigation an autopsy was completed and positive identification was confirmed. Chelan County Coroner, Earl Crowe, provided the following statement:

The victim is 42-year-old Cassondra Marie Andrews-Huff of Wenatchee. The victim suffered multiple sharp force injuries, and the Manner of Death is classified as Homicide.

The Wenatchee Police Department would like to extend sincere appreciation for the assistance from businesses and private property owners who provided video surveillance. With their support we were able to track, identify and make a timely arrest.

Additional appreciation to our law enforcement partners who have assisted since the day of the incident. Washington State Patrol, Chelan County Coroner’s Office, Douglas County Sherriff’s Office, East Wenatchee Police Department, and King County Search and Rescue (K9). There are still many steps of this investigation to go and we will continue to seek assistance from the necessary resources.

Wenatchee Police extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Cassondra’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Even with an arrest made, our investigation is still ongoing. If you have information related to this case, please reach out to Detective Hewitt at [email protected]. Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation

On Saturday, May 30th Wenatchee Police detectives initiated a homicide investigation and have been working diligently over the last week. In the first several days of the investigation multiple people who were seen on video, and in the area, the night of the incident have been identified, contacted, and interviewed. Detectives have also collected physical evidence that is currently being processed.

One person on surveillance video was not initially able to be identified. Based on further investigation, this person became the primary suspect in this case. Detectives worked with area businesses and private property owners to attempt to track and identify this suspect through additional video surveillance. A clear image of the suspect was eventually obtained, providing detectives good physical and clothing descriptions.

On the afternoon of Friday, June 5th, a Wenatchee detective saw the suspect walking in the area of Orondo Avenue and Washington Street. Additional officers and detectives responded, and the suspect was contacted inside the Wenatchee Public Library and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as a juvenile male from Wenatchee.

In the following hours, additional evidence was obtained through the service of multiple search warrants, and the suspect was booked at the Chelan County Juvenile Detention Center for Murder in the 1st degree.

Detective Sergeant Joe Eaton will be the point of contact for any media inquiries. However, this remains an active and ongoing investigation and no additional information will be released at this time.
