🎓 SENIOR SIGNING & AWARDS NIGHT // 22 seniors finished their final day of class by signing their commitment to participate in athletics during college! Nearly 20% of this year's 124 senior athletes are going on to college athletics

🏆 Congratulations to the recipients of the 2026 Doc Conway Best Panther Award: Rylee Jones and Owen Ervin!
Owen was selected for his commitment to doing what is right, being an excellent role model, and working hard to maintain a 4.0 GPA. Rylee graduates as one of WHS' most accomplished athletes. She was recognized for her selflessness and for always leading by example.

🏆 The 2026 Tom Byrne Coach of the Year Award went to Steve Roche!
Steve is the head coach of both track and XC at WHS, bringing home league and district titles for both sports, and helps every athlete improve and feel valued regardless of their ability. Congratulations Steve!

🥉🎾 3RD AT STATE // Congratulations Panther Boys Tennis on taking 3rd place at their state competition! Micah Shattuck earned 5th place in singles, and Tevin Hartsig & Nolan Alley placed 7th in doubles! Congratulations to these guys, Coach Raven, and all the state qualifiers on a fantastic season.

NEW GIRLS SWIM HEAD COACH 🌊 // Welcome to the Panther family, Coach Sutton!

Wenatchee High School Athletics proudly announces the hiring of Jana Sutton as the new Girls Swim Head Coach. Bringing a wealth of experience and a proven commitment to student success, Coach Sutton currently serves as an Intervention Specialist at Washington Elementary. Her extensive background includes coaching the Wenatchee School District’s middle school swim program and working with swimmers ages 5-18 through Velocity.

For the upcoming season, Sutton will take on a pivotal dual role, leading both the Panthers' high school team and the middle school girls program.

"When meeting with Coach Sutton, what impressed me most was her thoughtful approach to supporting all levels of our swimming athletes and her unwavering commitment to providing space for all to find success in education based swimming," said BJ K***z, WHS Athletic and Activities Director. "I am also confident she will maintain the long tradition of success at Wenatchee High School."

Wenatchee High School Athletics, in partnership with the Panther Booster Club, is proud to announce the Panther Hall of Fame Class of 2026 – a milestone that marks 30 years since the Hall of Fame was established in 1995. The Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches, and admin who represent the best of Wenatchee Athletics, and this year, Teams and Contributors have been added to the categories of inductees!

We’ll be honoring our 2026 inductees on social media throughout the year, and you can view the complete list on WenatcheeAthletics.com.

🏈 The 1970 Panther Football Team finished the season undefeated with 10 consecutive victories, a record 336 offensive points, seven shutouts, and the Big 8 Championship. They were first in the North Cascades League and first in the state poll— and handed Eastmont a 49–0 defeat in the Bridge of Sportsmanship game. The team was coached by Lee Bofto, Dale Skalisky, Gene Baker, and Tim Harris. Co-captains were Ted Taylor and Rocky Skalisky.
