Welcome to our Page

North Carolina SONAR Search Alliance was created by Mac Morgan (NCK9 ERT) and Jack Thorpe (NCTA K-9) because we felt that while many good SONAR teams exists in North Carolina, they haven’t yet been brought together. Given the amount of technology that’s available, we wanted to find a way for all of these departments to work together, because the ultimate goal is to bring home the victim with the highest amount of dignity and respect.

Seeing the need for coordination and cooperation, NCSSA was born. Our first participating agencies and host agencies are the North Carolina K9 Emergency Response Team, NC Trooper’s Association K-9 Search and Recovery, Stoney Creek Fire Rescue, and Wilson County Emergency Management. We expect more agencies to follow.

Our mission is of course to bring home the missing, but to also work together and train constantly to provide consistent, professional and excellent service, each and every time we put a boat on the water.
