⚠️ Between 9 AM and 4 PM on Wednesday, September 2, one block of the eastbound travel lane (headed towards Selma Road) of Wendell Boulevard will temporarily close between Oakwood Avenue and Hollybrook Road.

Traffic control measures will be in place to get drivers through the area. This temporary closure is for natural gas work in the vicinity. Use caution in the area and watch for workers.

We will be out this Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM installing and checking smoke detectors in the area of Fowlkes Street, Red Berry Drive, Holly Pointe Drive, Grange Drive, and Boxley Drive.

This Memorial Day weekend, the members of the Wendell Fire Department pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Well, it appears we have had sufficient rain for the N.C. Forest Service to feel confident in lifting the outdoor burning ban, effective tomorrow morning. But (and that’s a notable but) we’d ask that you exercise due caution in all outdoor activities that involve burning. Be Safe Wendell.
