Wake New Hope Fire Department

The Wake – New Hope Fire Department is located in North Eastern Wake County near Raleigh, NC. We are located at 4909 Watkins Rd, Wendell in Wake County NC.

We are an ISO Class 2 Department providing Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Response to the citizens and visitors of Wake County, NC. We operate one station with 2 staffed units. We have 18 full time career staff, 30+ volunteer members, numerous part time staff. In addition we a Cadet program to train and grow the next generation of firefighters. We provide emergency response to fire incidents,

motor vehicle accidents, medical incidents, technical rescue situations and any other incidents we may be needed.

🚨 Tuesday Night Training 🚨

Tonight, our crew had the opportunity to train alongside Wendell Fire Department during a mutual aid extrication drill. Crews worked together to sharpen skills, practice coordinated response, and improve techniques for safely removing patients from vehicles.

Training like this strengthens teamwork, communication, and preparedness when it matters most. We appreciate Wendell FD for the collaboration and dedication to serving our communities.

Wake New Hope Fire Department would like to welcome Andrew Brower to the ranks. Andrew started as a explorer and transferred to volunteer before being hired and assigned to A shift. We are excited to see where he takes his career.

Wake New Hope Fire Department would like to welcome two new Firefighters to our family. Left is Robert Summers who was a volunteer and was hired to Full Time and assigned to C-Shift. Right is Anthony Hinton who will start the Wake County Fire Academy for Academy 17. We are very excited to see what the future holds for these two.

This Sunday the crew from New Hope went and done Live Fire Training at Nash Community College with some local Volunteers. They did a variety of fire attacks and searches with downed firefighters and victims. Thanks to Chief Edwards and his crews for allowing us the opportunity to grow and learn.

Today, fire service colleagues from across the Wendell area came together on the softball field for a day of fellowship and camaraderie, united in support of the families of two of our firefighters. The event raised funds to assist these families during a time of need and reflected the very best of who we are as a fire service community. While our team did not take home the first-place trophy, the true measure of success was the support shown and the impact made. In that sense, everyone was a winner. Thanks to the Knightdale Fire Department, IAFF Cary Professional Firefighters Local 4103, Raleigh Professional Fire Fighters Association, and Wake New Hope Fire Department and the Wendell Parks and Recreation for hosting at the Community Park. Thanks also to all the local vendors that provided food and prizes for the raffle. Be Safe Wendell!
