Eastern Marshall County EMS EMC EMS provides emergency medical services to the Wenona, Toluca, and Rutland communities.

We are an ALS ambulance service located in the eastern portion of Marshall County, serving the towns of Toluca, Wenona, and Rutland. At this time we have three ambulances one of which is Advanced Life Support and staffed 24 hours a day by a Paramedic and an EMT-Basic. We have two other ambulances both staffed by volunteers from the community, and one of the two ambulances has the capabilities to be upgraded to ALS if there is a paramedic available for the unit at the time of the call.

This week's employee spotlight is EMR Mike Moranville. Mike has been in EMS for 2 years and recently started with EMC EMS. Mike was inspired to become an EMS provider by his family and following a garage fire in Dana. When not on shift, Mike enjoys working on vehicles and enjoying tacos. A fun fact is that Mike was able to buy a house at 21!! Mike, we greatly appreciate your dedication to EMC EMS!

Eastern Marshall County EMS serves the Toluca-Rutland & Wenona (Illinois) Fire Protection Districts. EMC-EMS proudly provides 100% ALS coverage to our communities 24/7/365.

Currently, we have an immediate full-time opening for a Clinical
Supervisor. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for directing,
managing and supervising the daily EMS clinical operations. Visit

Position Details
• Reports to the Board of Directors.
• Supervises the Assistant Clinical Supervisor, Paramedics, EMT-Basics, First Responders &
Volunteer Staff.
• Hours: 48 weekly (Can be 2 – 24 hr. shifts, or 4-12hr. and as needed to provide ALS coverage).
• Paid Time Off: 120 hours front loaded.
• 4% IRA match.
• $500 monthly insurance stipend, or toward group plan coverage.
• Hourly pay: $26.75/hour. (OT & Holiday would apply if worked).
• Must be licensed Paramedic in Illinois with 3 years of Paramedic practicing experience.

Other Opportunities:
Part Time:
• Paramedics: $23.25/hour
• EMT-Basic: $19.25/hour
All part time positions also have available 4% match and earned PTO.

This week's employee spotlight is Tim O'Connor, EMR and serves as Vice-Chairman on our Board of Directors. Tim has been with EMC EMS for 10 years and volunteered an EMR and Driver for Toluca Ambulance prior to EMC EMS. Tim was inspired to become an EMS provider by Art Pitts and because he retired and wanted to help others. In fact, his first call in EMS was the night he was voted on the ambulance! When not responding to emergencies, Tim enjoys golfing, gardening, and enjoying a medium-rare steak. Tim, we greatly appreciate your time and dedication to EMC EMS and the communities we serve!

This week's employee spotlight is Board Chairman Gene Rossetti. Gene was appointed to the EMC EMS Board of Directors in 2020 and was elected Chairman of the Board in 2022. Gene also enjoys spending time golfing at Tall Oaks, he also enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Sue, and English Springer Spaniel, Reese. Gene has also had many traveling adventures, logging over 1 million air miles!! Gene, thank you for your dedication and commitment to EMC EMS and the communities we serve.

Josh has been in EMS for 10 years, with 1 year at EMC EMS, and was inspired to become an EMS provider to help others in need and by his younger sister. When Josh isn't helping others in need, you can find him hanging out with family and enjoying a good pork chop. A fun fact about Josh is he has over 60 tattoos! This week's employee spotlight is EMT-Basic Michelle Rippel. Michelle has been in EMS for 30 years, 10 of that being with EMC EMS and the 20 years prior with Wenona Ambulance. Michelle was inspired to become an EMS provider by her brother so that she could help others and be prepared for emergencies as she was also starting a family. When she's not helping others, Michelle enjoys baking, spending time with her granddaughters and enjoying a pizza. Michelle also enjoys traveling to New York City and Chicago to see her nieces! Michelle, thank you for your dedication and commitment to the communities we serve!!

Our Story

Eastern Marshall County EMS (EMC/EMS) is an ALS ambulance service that provides emergency medical services to citizens in the Wenona and Toluca/Rutland Fire Protection Districts. EMC/EMS originated in March of 2015 in an effort to provide the highest level of EMS care to members of the community. The service is operated by three ambulances and a combination of paid staff and volunteers through the St. James EMS System.
