At approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning, your Wentzville Firefighters were dispatched to a mobile home fire with flames showing.

The first-due crew arrived on scene to find fire through the roof. At the time, it was unknown whether the residence was occupied. The initial arriving crew deployed a handline to the Bravo side of the residence and made entry to conduct an offensive fire attack and primary search.

The next-arriving crews established a truck-to-truck water supply and deployed a second handline to the Alpha side of the residence for fire attack. A continuous water supply was then established from a hydrant located up the street.

The homeowners arrived on scene and confirmed with command that all family members were accounted for and that the residence was unoccupied.

The fire was brought under control with no injuries reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

We had a great time at the Wentzville School District Back to School Event on Saturday at Liberty High School! 📚

There were lots of vendors on hand helping provide school supplies and resources to students and families. We enjoyed getting to interact with everyone and, of course, taking a little time to talk about fire safety along the way.

It was a great turnout, and we were glad to be part of this event again this year. Thanks to WSD for putting together another great Back to School event! 🚒

It’s that time of year again! Our youngest neighbors are headed back to school. ✏️📚

Please watch for school buses making frequent stops, look both ways when approaching a crosswalk, and give yourself extra time to get where you need to be.

A safe start means a strong year ahead. Let’s get every kid to school and home safely.

Yesterday morning, at approximately 9:15 a.m., your Wentzville Firefighters responded to assist the Orchard Farm Fire Protection District with a large boat fire at Woodland Marina.

Initial reports indicated two large boats were on fire beneath a dock, with several additional vessels nearby and at risk of becoming involved. Wentzville crews responded with tanker 9823 to assist with water supply operations as firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the surrounding boats.

No injuries to civilians or emergency personnel were reported.

Last night, our crews responded to Indian Camp Creek Park for an animal rescue after a horse became trapped in deep mud in the wetland creek area.

Crews hiked into the area with rope rescue equipment and found the horse heavily trapped and extremely exhausted. Using multiple rope systems and coordinated efforts from several Wentzville Fire units, along with assistance from a St. Charles County Police officer, crews were able to free the horse from the mud.

The horse was then carefully assisted out of the creek area and back to the park entrance, where veterinary personnel were waiting.

A great example of the importance of specialized rescue training, teamwork, and having the right equipment when responding to unique emergencies. We're proud of the work our crews put in to get this horse safely out of a difficult situation.

Today, Wentzville Fire had the honor of welcoming a very special visitor to the station!

We were proud to meet a retired firefighter from Algeria who dedicated an incredible 35 years to serving his community in the fire service.

It was a great opportunity to share stories, experiences, and the brotherhood that connects firefighters around the world. No matter where you serve, the commitment to protecting others is something we all share.

Thank you for stopping by and for 35 years of dedicated service! 🇩🇿🤝🇺🇸
