Wesley Chapel Fire Department

Wesley Chapel Fire Department Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Department The Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Department (WCVFD) was established in 1975. Our department maintains two stations.

Its district includes some unincorporated areas of Union County, as well as the municipalities of Wesley Chapel and Marvin, portions of Weddington, and a small part of Indian Trail. Station 26 is located on Waxhaw-Indian Trail Rd. and Station 31 is located on New Town Rd. These stations are staffed by a combination of part-time paid staff and volunteer members. Station 26 provides 2 engines, a bru

sh truck, a tanker and a ladder. Station 31 provides 3 engines, a brush truck and a rescue. In addition to fire protection, WCFD also utilizes First Responders to provide rapid response to medical emergencies. WCFD also provides many other public services for the communities it proudly serves. Over the years, our service area has evolved into one of the fastest growing areas in Union County. As a result of this growth, our department has proactively evolved to meet the needs of our citizens. Our department is very fortunate to have such a strong volunteer base, and the vast majority of our members live within the communities that Wesley Chapel Fire Department provides services to. Because of these dedicated members, we operate our department with a strong volunteer foundation, thus allowing us to respond with a large manpower base to handle the most complex incidents. Our department has also made several noteable improvements to buildings, equipment and apparatus, allowing us to better serve the communities of our district; as we have always provided the citizens with the highest level of service possible. It is in this spirit that we will strive to ensure that you are receiving the best emergency services available. Our department is committed to serving your community, and we greatly appreciate your support.

Earlier today Station 43 units assisted Stallings Fire Department with a rapidly spreading brush fire that was threatening nearby structures near Chestnut Ln and Strawberry Rd.

Station 43 responded with Brush 43, Engine 43, and Tanker 43. Crews coordinated suppression efforts, and ultimately both Engine 201 and Engine 43 deployed deck guns to knock down remaining fire and ensure all hot spots were fully extinguished.

As the fire risk is still extremely high across our area North Carolina and Union County remain under a burn ban. No outdoor burning of any kind is permitted. This includes the burning of yard debris and trash as well any recreational fires. Even small fires can quickly get out of control in these conditions.

đźš« Burn Ban in Effect đźš«
Due to increased fire risk from dry conditions, the Fire Marshal has issued a countywide burn ban effective immediately.

All outdoor burning is prohibited. Violations may result in fines.

This local ban aligns with the statewide burn ban issued by the N.C. Forest Service yesterday.

🚨 ROAD CONDITIONS UPDATE – PLEASE READ 🚨

Road conditions across our area are worsening and are likely the worst we’ve seen all weekend and all of last week.

While it may look like the roads are clearing up, everything is freezing over and turning into sheets of ice due to continued traffic and temperatures remaining below freezing. This is creating extremely dangerous driving conditions.

A few roads are beginning to become completely impassable and emergency vehicles with tire chains and plows are struggling to maintain traction, passenger vehicles are at even greater risk.

đźš« There are far too many vehicles on the roads right now.
đźš— Please stay home if you can.
⏱ Delay travel until conditions improve.

Your safety—and the safety of first responders—depends on it.
