Tomorrow (11/2) is the big day. Your West Alex Police Dept. appreciates all of the work that our friends have done to get the police levy on the ballot. We appreciate all of the support that we get every day from the community, and we hope that through the work we do we have earned your support. Whether the levy passes or fails, we will continue to do everything we can to protect this community. However, we sure hope it passes because we need the money to continue to provide the services you deserve. Please show us your support by voting "YES" for the levy, in the end it is a win-win for us all.

This is not an attempt to acquire new money to buy equipment or expand facilities that we don't really need. Budget cuts have reduced police coverage and services to a level that is well below what we have provided in the past.

We need the levy to bring us back to proper staffing levels and coverage levels that the people of West Alex deserve.

A strong police presence protects residential and business property.

A weak police presence will attract crime, which could negatively impact business revenue, the school system and various quality of life issues for residents.

Reduced police coverage will necessitate longer waits and response times when the police are needed.
