This morning we welcomed Loki as our May Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) adoptable dog of the month.

Loki is an approximately two-year-old male terrier mix (neutered) and weighs in at about 69lbs.

Loki met with many of our department members, and enjoyed a station tour, along with many treats and pets. He could not have been more well behaved while visiting with us and is just a gentle young man looking for his forever home.

Loki is available for adoption now and will not last long if we had to guess.

Act fast!

West Allis Police Department takes reckless driving seriously - we constantly watch for reckless driving and we follow-up on reckless driving complainants. When we issue a citation for reckless driving, we also tow the involved vehicle and hold it until the vehicle owner pays any outstanding fines or forfeitures that he or she may have.

Recently, an officer was monitoring traffic around 76th & Beloit when he observed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed on W. Beloit Rd. The officer clocked one of the vehicles traveling at 89mph in a 30mph posted zone. The officer was eventually able to catch up to that vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on it. The driver admitted he was racing. He was cited for reckless driving and the vehicle is currently being held at an impound lot because the vehicle owner owes $1000+ in unpaid fines.

Fortunately, no one was harmed in this incident, but reckless driving is dangerous! Slow down, obey traffic laws, & drive safely!
