A huge thanks to our DPW plow drivers and staff for their work during and after yesterday's snow. Crews have to cover over 192 miles of streets and may travel as many 1,500 miles throughout a full plow snow clean up after a major storm - it's a big undertaking! Check out what it takes to clean up the City after a snowstorm.
Brining Operations January 2020
Notice the stripes on City streets? Crews have been out brining before this weekend's predicated snowfall. Find out how brine helps make full plowing operations easier, and helps both the environment and the City's bottom line.

When The Better Block team visited us in May, volunteers got a preview of the Wikiblocks Better Block uses to create awesome outdoor spaces. Wikiblocks are open source patterns that can be printed on wood and used to create easy-to-assemble tables, chairs, planters, and other things that instantly transform outdoor gathering spaces. They're super easy to put together!
We're working with volunteers to set up Wikiblocks pieces in the 60th and Burnham area for our Better Block event this Sept. 6 and 7, and we want you to join us! Sign up to volunteer here - no experience needed, and we'll provide all materials: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805084caca72fa3f85-volunteer
