As we conclude this National Day of Prayer, we would like to thank Wesley United Methodist Church for having us. Members took part in services with PD, EMS, and other community congregations.

The Fireman’s Prayer
When I am called to duty, God
whenever flames may rage,
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child
Before it’s too late,
Or some older person
from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,

West Berlin & Berlin Firefighters took advantage of the nice weather last evening and completed some joint training. Crews refreshed themselves with aerial and ground ladder skills and accuracy. Our newer members picked up some good tips and gained some valuable knowledge to carry into the future.

ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT NOTICE

Residents and visitors of Berlin Township:

Please be advised that roadway improvements are scheduled to commence on Pine Avenue, between Franklin Avenue and Lester Avenue, during the week of April 27, weather permitting. Traffic along Pine Avenue will be affected for the duration of the project.

Residents may experience temporary inconveniences while construction activities are underway in the vicinity of their properties.

To ensure uninterrupted service, residents are requested to place all trash and recyclables at the curb the evening prior to their scheduled collection day to facilitate early morning pickup.

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, installation and improvement of storm drainage systems (including inlets and insulated piping), roadway milling and resurfacing, partial pavement reconstruction, selective removal and replacement of concrete curbing and driveway aprons, installation of concrete gutters, construction of ADA-compliant ramps, lawn restoration, and other associated improvements.

The project is anticipated to be completed within approximately six (6) weeks.

In between a steady day of answering alarms, members stopped out at our JFK Elementary School to take part in the annual Autism Acceptance Bubble Parade. Unfortunately, our stay was interrupted by a commercial vehicle fire a few blocks away and we had to leave. Our friends at Berlin Township PEACE were able to keep our part of the show going in our absence.

This morning, West Berlin Fire-Rescue responded to a reported fire at TAB Shredding.

Upon arrival, units located a small fire within a piece of machinery. Crews quickly confined and extinguished the fire, preventing further extension.

No injuries were reported. The incident is currently under investigation by the local Fire Marshal.
