Good morning to the Greater West Bloomfield Community. We hope you are waking with power this morning. If not and you are using a generator please make sure you have a working CO detector. Never run a generator in your garage, home or near open windows and air intake’s for your home. Your West Bloomfield firefighters responded to nearly 200 calls for service over the last two days including 2 structure fires. We have to give a huge thank you to the communication professionals at our West Bloomfield dispatch center. They did an amazing job taking your calls for assistance and getting us where we needed to be.

This morning just before 10:00 firefighters from five fire stations were dispatched to a structure fire in the area of Orchard Lake Road and Cass Lake Road. Fire station 9 arrived on scene to find a detached garage heavily involved with fire starting to spread to homes on either side. Our crews quickly applied water and brought the fire under control. Thank you to the team at M & M Cleaners for making sure the occupants of the home were able to safely exit.

After months of going through the department’s engineering program, two more of your firefighter/paramedics have successfully completed the program. Commerce Road is closed at Dow Ridge due to a vehicle accident / fire. Thankfully, only minor injuries were reported.

Please avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
