The West Bloomfield Library is honored to be selected as a recipient of the Read Japan Project (administered by the Tokyo Foundation). This program aims to promote understanding of Japan by donating Japan-related books to institutions. The Consulate General of Japan in Detroit nominated the West Bloomfield Library. Several of the donated books are on display in the Main Library lobby.

Be among the first to browse the new books! Attend the Book Donation Reception in the Main Library Meeting Room on Saturday, June 27 at 10 AM. Enjoy Japanese crafts with the Japan Society of Detroit Women's Club and light refreshments sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

School’s out. Teens clocked in for Summer Reading instead. πŸ˜ŽπŸ“š

Young Adults took over the library after hours for games, snacks, chaos, and enough foam to make the whole night feel like a fever dream. Summer has begun.

Have you visited the Westacres Branch Library? The branch sits in a quiet corner of West Bloomfield, tucked between Green Lake and Middle Straits Lake. Branch staff made sure the community was reflected in the design of the library's exterior lockers by representing some of the wildlife found nearby.

These new lockers offer residents a convenient alternative to in-building holds shelves, complementing the Main Library's Drive-Up Window nicely. Books and media held at the lockers can be retrieved while walking with your dog, cruising in a golf cart, or even after the building is closed. Just be sure to have your library card number on hand.
