West Bloomfield-Lakes Area Democrats

West Bloomfield-Lakes Area Democrats Our membership draws from the communities of Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake, Sylvan Lake, and West Bloomfield. Our meetings convene at approximately 7:00pm.

The West Bloomfield-Lakes Area Democratic Club (WBL Democrats) is committed to promoting and advancing democratic causes and candidates and supporting the platform of the United States and Michigan Democratic Party. Our organization meets every 1st Thursday of the month. Meetings are currently virtual via Zoom until it is safe to meet in person. Meetings and guest speakers are announced beforehand

via email and the club website, which is: www.wbldems.org. We ask kindly for you to visit us online at both our website and page for frequent updates on our activities, and we encourage you to join us at our monthly meetings.

March 2014 marked a historic moment—when same-sex couples were able to legally marry in Michigan. Shortly after, a federal appeals court put that ruling on hold, leaving those marriages in legal limbo. In June the following year, the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling made marriage equality the law of the land nationwide.

Michigan Senate Democrats are focused on building on that progress so people can live, love, and build their lives with dignity and a true sense of belonging.
