From My Heart, I Ask for Your Trust.

Dear friends and neighbors in West Boylston and Worcester,

Before you cast your vote, I want to speak to you from my heart, as your neighbor.

For nearly 10 years on the West Boylston Select Board, the most important part of my service has been listening to you.

You have called my cell, sent a text, written a Facebook message or simply posted a concern in a community group. Those conversations helped me understand what you were facing. I listened, asked questions, contacted the appropriate departments and worked to get you an answer.

You should not have to wait for a formal meeting to have your concerns heard.

When a family near Woodland Street contacted me about a gas leak, I spoke with the Fire Department, visited their home and contacted Eversource. A technician was already addressing the problem when I arrived. I listened to the homeowners and wanted their concerns to be taken seriously.

During COVID, I spent many late nights searching for vaccine appointments for people worried about their loved ones.

I helped an elderly resident with a tree concern, helped a homeowner clarify responsibility for a stone wall, and followed up on missed trash pickups, recycling questions and other everyday problems.

Your concerns mattered to me because they mattered to you.

Throughout these years, I have worked full time as a Senior Research Scientist at UMass Chan Medical School to support my family, while fulfilling my responsibilities as a husband, father and selectman.

My belief is simple: serving our community is service to humanity and, for me, service to God. That means treating every person with care and respect, whatever their background or faith.

My service on planning, zoning, education and transportation boards, including the Quinsigamond Community College Board of Trustees, has taught me the importance of preparation, cooperation and persistence. Contract negotiations and hiring committees have required careful decisions about public money and the people entrusted to serve our community.

I do not claim a perfect record. I have missed some meetings because of illness or scheduling conflicts. Some problems remain unresolved, and sometimes I missed a message. If you reached out and did not hear back, I am sorry. You deserved a response.

To my West Boylston neighbors, please consider my whole record: the conversations we have shared, the help I have offered and nearly a decade of service. I welcome fair questions and criticism, and I ask that you weigh them alongside that work.

To my Worcester neighbors, I want to earn your trust through that same care and commitment. Whether we have known each other for years or have yet to meet, I will take your concerns seriously, work with the appropriate officials and keep you informed.

Serving in local government has shown me how much responsibility falls on our communities and local taxpayers. As your State Representative, I will fight to bring our fair share of state funding home to Worcester and West Boylston.

That means advocating for a new Burncoat High School, support for Major Edwards Elementary School, funding to repair our roads, and fair state payments for state-owned land in West Boylston through the PILOT program.

My three priorities are simple: making life more affordable through responsible tax relief, securing our fair share of state funding, and making government transparent and accountable.

In 2024, I joined nearly 72% of Massachusetts voters in voting to authorize the State Auditor to audit the Legislature. I will respect that decision and support a lawful, independent audit. You deserve to know how your money is spent.

I am running to serve you and your family. I want to bring the same attention I have given to individual concerns to the larger decisions that affect our schools, neighborhoods and household budgets.

I cannot promise to solve everything. I can promise to listen, take your concerns seriously and put in the work.

From the bottom of my heart, please consider giving me the opportunity to serve as your next State Representative. I humbly ask for your trust and your vote in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, September 1.

Thank you for considering me.

Your neighbor,
Raj

A Clear Choice: Politics as Usual or a Representative Who Shows Up

I appreciate Raymond Mariano’s thoughtful assessment of this important race. The choice is clear: nearly 20 years of politics as usual or responsive, independent representation.

My priorities are lowering costs, securing our fair share of state funding, and restoring transparency at the State House. On September 1, I humbly ask for your vote for State Representative.

08/24/2026

MY THREE TOP PRIORITIES

1. Affordability and Responsible Tax Relief

Families and seniors are struggling with the rising costs of gasoline, groceries, utilities and property taxes. I will support responsible tax relief and oppose unfunded state mandates that shift additional costs onto our cities, towns and taxpayers.

2. Our Fair Share of State Funding

I will fight for stronger Chapter 70 education aid, full special-education reimbursements, additional Chapter 90 road funding and fair PILOT payments for West Boylston. Worcester and West Boylston should not be overlooked while local property taxpayers are left with the bill.

3. Transparency and Accountability

Nearly 72% of Massachusetts voters supported giving the State Auditor authority to audit the Legislature. Representative O’Day voted for H.5469, legislation that narrowed the scope of that audit. I will respect the voters and support a lawful, independent and transparent audit of how taxpayer money is spent.

My commitment is simple: listen to the voters, bring our fair share home and protect taxpayers.

On Tuesday, September 1, vote BARUR R. RAJESHKUMAR for State Representative.
