Tuesday evening members of the West Brookfield Fire Department supported the town bon fire on the common. Members were on hand to light the fire and then stood by to ensure safety and make sure event goers didn’t get too close. Due to incoming weather we had to light it a few minutes early, but once the storm passed it was a great night for the community. Members also handed out fire prevention materials from the SAFE program to the children in attendance. We would like to thank the West Brookfield Band Stand Committee, the West Brookfield Police Department, West Brookfield Rescue Squad and the Warren CERT team for their assistance with this event.

Good Afternoon,

With the extreme heat forecasted for the upcoming days the town will be opening a cooling center on Wednesday and Thursday from 9AM- 3PM at the West Brookfield Senior Center. The center is located at 73 Central St. This will be available to all residents of West Brookfield. Additional days, and/or extended hours will be determined depending on the demand. The bon fire is just around the corner! Now happening on Tuesday, June 30th starting at 6pm. We hope to see everyone there as the community comes together for a fun filled night on the common.

IMPORTANT BONFIRE CONCERT UPDATE

The West Brookfield Bonfire Concert has been moved to Tuesday, June 30, from 6:00–9:30 p.m. due to town budget and logistical considerations.

Like many community events, the Bonfire Concert relies on a partnership between generous sponsors, community donations, volunteers, and town services to make the evening possible. Given the financial challenges currently facing our community, we’ve made the decision to move the event to June 30 to help ensure the resources needed for a safe and successful event remain available.

We know schedule changes can be inconvenient, and we appreciate your understanding and support. Our goal remains the same as it has always been: bringing the community together for an evening of music, tradition, and fun on the Common.

We hope you’ll join us on Tuesday, June 30 as we celebrate another great West Brookfield summer tradition! 🔥🎶🇺🇸

We are very grateful for Senator Durant securing this funding for us. It will allow the purchase of several portable radios vital to communications during emergencies.

Another FY27 Senate Budget update - focused on public safety!

We’ve secured $50,000 for the West Brookfield Fire Department to purchase new radios, ensuring first responders have the reliable communication tools they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

Supporting those who protect our communities will always be a top priority!

Yesterday, members assisted a citizen who reported that a family of birds had taken up residence in their dryer vent by safely removing the nest. Blocked dryer vents can pose a significant fire risk. Please ensure that the vent openings for furnaces, dryers, and other appliances in your home are clear of blockages.

This past weekend we celebrated the long and distinguished career of Deputy Chief Danny Santos, who retired after 44 years of service to the Town of West Brookfield and fire service. We thank him for everything he has done to make the department and community a better and safer place. We hope you enjoy retirement, it is well deserved!

It’s that time of year again! Our Easter Bunny Parade will be kicking off on Saturday, April 4 at 12:00pm from the West Brookfield Elementary School! Come visit us along the route and say hi!
