A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from Sunday afternoon through early Tuesday morning. 🌨️
Forecasts call for wet, heavy snow beginning Sunday afternoon and continuing into Monday, along with gusty winds. Heavy, moisture-laden snow can weigh down trees and power lines, increasing the risk of scattered power outages.
🚨 Emergency: Call 9-1-1
📞 Non-Emergency Dispatch: 508-867-1170
Now is the time to prepare:
• Charge cell phones, portable chargers, and medical devices.
• Have flashlights and extra batteries ready — avoid using candles.
• Stock up on water, medications, and easy-to-prepare food.
• If you use a generator, operate it outdoors only and away from windows and doors.
• Keep vehicles fueled and an emergency kit inside if travel becomes necessary.
Wet snow is physically demanding to shovel. Pace yourself, take breaks, and use proper lifting techniques. Overexertion can lead to serious medical emergencies.
Please check on elderly neighbors and vulnerable residents — especially those who rely on electricity for medical equipment or heat. A quick phone call or visit can make a significant difference.
If you have a fire hydrant near your property and are physically able, please clear at least three feet around it. Accessible hydrants allow first responders to act quickly in the event of a fire.
Plan ahead, limit unnecessary travel during the height of the storm, and continue to monitor updates as conditions develop.
Stay safe and look out for one another.
