Being involved is one of the best ways to find out what's happening in the school district. These five High School students are involved as Board of Education student representatives. They attend board meetings to understand how the school board operates and the decisions made. The student reps do not have a vote on agenda items, but they do have an opportunity to ask questions and report what's happening at the High School at each meeting. They are chosen through an application and interview process. This year, there were so many good candidates that the group grew from three to five!

West Carrollton teachers are always making classroom time fun with creative lesson plans. Ms. G. at the ECC had a football draft for her kindergarten class. Students picked their team (at random), then had a chance to trade with another student or pick another team that hadn’t been drawn. They each got a coloring sheet that matched the team they chose. They will research their team's logo and then color their sheet with the team colors. Every week, students will follow game scores and make predictions about their team. The lesson combines social, research, art, and math skills. We will be following the fun throughout the football season. Of course, our favorite team is the WC Pirates!
