It’s the time of year for some of the wildflower rock stars. First, there is the the Lady Slipper, Cypripedium Reginae, a showy orchid. You can get your Lady Slipper print at the Plattsburgh Public Library. And keep your eye out for the quirky Jack-in-the-pulpit, Arisaema triphyllum, or stop by the Peru Free Library for a print!

It is spring and the ephemerals are here, so briefly. If you are in the woods this week keep an eye out for the yellow trout lily (Erythronium Americanum) which is featured on the cover of the Clinton County Library Passport. You may also spot the lovely bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis). If you miss it, you can always get a print of it at the Chazy Public Library. Happy spotting!

Do you like libraries? Original art? Native wildflowers? Pick up a Clinton County Library Passport and explore.

The passport is the creation of Elizabeth and Zoe Taber from West Chazy. They created a unique linoleum block print for each library in Clinton County, designed and hand printed hundreds of passport booklets.

Pick up your passport at any of the participating libraries (slide 3) and visit each library to have it stamped. Which wildflower will be your favorite?
