This exhibit opened a few days ago in our very own Chester County History Center. We haven't seen it yet but the American Battlefield Trust is one of the largest member-based nonprofits created around the time when our US Congress passed the endangered battlefield act. The group works to save historic battlefields (Civil War, Am Rev, and the War of 1810) from rampant development. They have helped to preserve many acres of the Brandywine Battlefield land as well.

This is from the History Center:

American Revolution Experience

The American Revolution Experience invites visitors to consider the choice faced by members of the revolutionary generation as tensions mounted in the 1770s: Would these ordinary citizens risk their lives and livelihoods in pursuit of liberty? Or would they remain loyal subjects of the British crown, coming into conflict with neighbors and family? What would you choose?

Exclusive for the CCHC installation, local Daughters of the American Revolution chapters are adding Lego™ recreations of several key moments in the American Revolution.

The award-winning website from the American Battlefield Trust and Daughters of the American Revolution is now traveling exhibit coming to a town near YOU!

As you know, it’s the 250th anniversary of the declaration of independence. People often forget that the story of that independence began here in Chester County, the breadbasket of the colonies. And the largest engagement of the American Revolution took place here - at the Battle of Brandywine. The 260th of that is next year, 1777 -2027

Here’s coverage on Chadds Ford Historical Society’s plans. https://www.facebook.com/share/1CeK9Rd3Nc/?mibextid=wwXIfr
