It’s always a pleasure to welcome senior students year after year to help with things like organizing donations, creating marketing content, and supporting other special projects. We appreciate your fresh perspectives and your interest in the impact of community-based public health work.

At MCHC, every moment of play is also a moment of learning, growth, and connection.
Through our Parents as Teachers evidence-based model, we support parents and caregivers in nurturing their child’s development from the very beginning. By encouraging positive parent-child interaction, learning through play, and healthy development, we help build a strong foundation for school readiness and lifelong success. We are proud to walk alongside families as they support their children’s bright futures.

From our Perinatal Holistic Wellness Event last week!

With this event, MCHC along with members of the Southeastern PA Regional Maternal Health Coalition, wanted to create a space for honest conversations about the challenges families may face during pregnancy and the postpartum period, and to remind parents and caregivers that we're here to help.

Our panelists shared insights on maternal mental health, substance use recovery, early warning signs that someone may need additional support, and the important role that doulas, home visitors, healthcare providers, and community-based programs play in helping families thrive. The conversation also explored barriers to care, including navigating Medicaid and SNAP benefits, while emphasizing the importance of reducing stigma, building trust, and connecting families with resources.

We're so grateful to the agencies that joined us to share valuable resources, the families who attended, our team, and the panelists who eagerly shared their expertise. Shout out to our Plans of Safe Care Senior Coordinator, Karla Cadilla, for organizing such a meaningful event and helping create a supportive space for learning, connection, and community.
