BREAKING: Conservative Reporter Catches Trump Lying About His Reception at the Knicks Game
Trump showed up to Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden and told reporters afterward that the crowd gave him an "amazing" reception with "mostly cheers." The pool reports told a very different story, and they came from a reporter at the conservative Washington Times.
Jeff Mordock filed a series of dispatches that painted a picture Trump clearly didn't want anyone to see. When Trump appeared on the Jumbotron during the National Anthem, the boos were described as "thunderous" and long-lasting. Knicks owner James Dolan was spotted appearing to smirk as the jeers rained down. Signs in the crowd read "Nobody wants you here" and "Trump must go." The motorcade route drew middle fingers and thumbs down from fans gathered outside.
Inside the arena, Trump sat eating a bucket of fries and sipping what appeared to be a Diet Coke, notable because MSG has an exclusive Pepsi contract, meaning someone had to smuggle it in for him. When the Knicks tied the game, Trump showed no visible reaction. The Knicks went on to lose 115-111, snapping a 13-game winning streak, and many fans laid that squarely at his feet too.
Trump spoke to reporters for nearly 17 minutes after the game and apparently absorbed none of it, calling the night a great time and insisting the crowd loved him. The conservative reporter who was there said otherwise, in writing, on the record.
