The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department has launched a new community awareness initiative focused on fraud and scam prevention.

Each year, residents in Westtown and East Goshen Townships fall victim to a wide variety of scams, resulting in significant financial losses. Unfortunately, these crimes often target some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and the impact can extend far beyond the money that is lost.

Our goal is simple: education and awareness can help prevent someone from becoming the next victim.

As part of this initiative, Fraud Prevention flyers have been posted in the Westtown and East Goshen Township buildings, as well as at various locations throughout our community. These flyers provide information about common scams, warning signs to watch for, and simple steps residents can take to protect themselves and their families.

We have also created 5" x 7" Fraud Prevention awareness cards, which are available free of charge at the front window of the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department.

We encourage residents to stop by and pick one up. Place it on your refrigerator, keep it near your telephone, or give one to a family member, friend, or neighbor who may benefit from the information. Sometimes, having a simple reminder nearby to stop, think, and verify before sending money or providing personal information can prevent a devastating financial loss.

Protecting our community isn't limited to responding after a crime occurs. We also want to provide our residents with the information and resources they need to prevent these crimes from happening in the first place.

Tomorrow is the first day of school!🥳

Please be extra careful in the morning…excited kiddos, more traffic, and lots of buses on the road.

We wanted to share a quick reminder on when you HAVE to stop for a school bus in PA.⬇️

Let's work together to keep our kids safe. Please slow down, stay alert, and share this with a driver you know.

Have a great first day, everyone!

Happy Back to School Season! 🏫

As our students head back to school, we want to remind parents to stay involved in their child’s digital life.

There are countless apps available to young people, and it’s important to know what apps your children are using, how they work, and who they may be communicating with.

Take some time to talk with your child about their online activity, review privacy settings, use parental controls, and set healthy screen-time limits.
