💦 Drafting Operations Training 🚒

Early this morning, members of West Bradford Fire Company took advantage of the warm August weather to sharpen their drafting and pump-operation skills.

Crews practiced establishing a water supply directly from a natural water source, reinforcing the skills needed to maintain a reliable water supply in areas where fire hydrants may not be readily available.

Training like this keeps our volunteers ready for whatever the next call may bring.

🚨 Mutual Aid House Fire 🚨

Tanker 39, Engine 39-3, Engine 39-1, and Traffic 39 responded to assist Longwood Fire Company with a house fire.

Upon arrival, Engine 39-3 immediately established drafting operations from a nearby pond, providing a continuous water supply to Engine 25-1. Tanker 39 provided supplemental water upon arrival, while crews from Engines 39-3 and 39-1 assisted with manpower on scene.

Incidents like this highlight the teamwork and cooperation among our neighboring fire companies. Working together, our volunteers remain committed to serving and protecting our communities whenever the call comes in.

🔥Practice Makes Perfect🔥

Last night, WBFC took part in a live fire training at Chester County Public Safety Training Campus. Crews trained in hose line advancement and searches along with Downingtown Fire Department, Wagontown Fire Company, and Keystone Valley Fire Company.

🛟Water Rescue🛟

This afternoon, the West Bradford Fire Company along withGood Fellowship Ambulance & EMS and Fame Fire Co. No. 3 were alerted to Brandywine Drive for a person experiencing a medical emergency on the Brandywine Creek.

Rescue 39, TAC 39, Utility 39, and ATV 39 made the response. Rescue 39’s crew gained access to the patient while other crews cleared multiple access points along the water. Our rescuers were able to get the patient out of the water and to EMS safely.

This is West Bradford Fire Company’s third call of the day. WBFC doesn’t just put out fires. If you’re interested in the different ways we protect our community, consider volunteering today!

It’s a beautiful day for some ATV training!☀️🌿

ATV-39 is an all terrain vehicle utilized for both fire and medical emergencies. ATV-39 has two interchangeable bed configurations, one with a water tank and pump and another with a backboard and seat for EMS personnel. (And yes, it has sirens 🚨)

WBFC members and GFAC EMS responded to a minor two vehicle accident at Marshallton Thorndale and Telegraph Roads this evening. This was the third call of the day for our team with the other two being vehicle accidents with property damage.

WBFC Fire Police also worked throughout the afternoon, providing traffic management for the Annual Ice Cream Social event held in Marshallton.

On Saturday morning, several of our volunteers sharpened their skills during a driver competency course, navigating multiple apparatus through cone courses designed to simulate real-world driving challenges. Training like this helps ensure we’re ready when every second counts—and it’s just one of the many ways our team continues to grow, learn, and serve our community. For this week’s training, West Bradford volunteers took a little detour!🚧
