The Phoenix Wheel is here! 🎡

My team was glad to be in Phoenixville to witness the official dedication of the historic wheel, which was manufactured in 1893 at Phoenix Bridge Company, a subsidiary of Phoenix Iron & Steel, and was in operation in Asbury Park, New Jersey for 93 years.

When I represented Phoenixville, prior to redistricting, my team and I were proud to help secure state grant funding to bring the wheel back to its home. Now the wheel has risen from the ashes, creating an entrance to the borough’s downtown and serving as a grand reminder of the town’s rich manufacturing history.

Personally, this dedication is closing a chapter for my office having the privilege to serve the borough of Phoenixville, but I know the town has been and continues to be greatly served by my friend Senator Muth and her team.

Thank you to Barbara Cohen, the Schuylkill River Heritage Center, and everyone that made this project a reality!

Nitrous oxide has some legitimate purposes, but it can often be misused and abused as a recreational drug, causing serious medical complications. N2O has unfortunately exploded in popularity and been made easily and legally accessible for purchase at gas stations, smoke shops, and other retail outlets.

My upcoming legislation will help protect our communities by restricting the retail sale of nitrous oxide (N2O) to prevent its illicit recreational use while preserving access for legitimate and lawful purposes, banning the sale of flavored varieties of N2O, and requiring retailers to sign an affirmation that each N2O purchase is intended for legal, health, or food preparation purposes – not recreational.

On this day, Congress passed the 19th Amendment, bringing the nation one step closer to fulfilling its promise of democracy

The amendment guaranteed women the right to vote, but the struggle for equal access to the ballot continued for women of color for decades afterward.
