The Chester County Women’s Commission proudly celebrates and thanks People's Light for bringing The Woman Question to the stage; an incredibly powerful production highlighting the courage, resilience, and determination of women pursuing education and equity in medicine during a time when their voices were often denied.
This moving story beautifully connects past and present, reminding us that the fight for opportunity, representation, and equality continues to matter deeply today. We are especially proud that Chester County’s own Ann Preston, part of the first graduating class of the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1851 and keynote speaker at the 1852 Women’s Rights Convention, helped pave the way for generations of women leaders.
Together, we honor the women who challenged history and continue uplifting those shaping the future. ✨

Last week, the Chester County Women’s Commission Executive Board had the privilege of attending Forward Together: Continuing the Journey; Reentry Awareness Event hosted by Chester County OIC. It was an eye-opening and deeply human experience that highlighted both the challenges and the resilience of individuals reentering society after incarceration.
We are incredibly grateful to the Chester County OIC team for creating such a meaningful and thoughtfully executed event. It reinforced how critical this work is and the powerful impact that collaboration has in supporting successful reentry.
As a Commission, we remain committed to strengthening community connections, expanding education and mentorship, and deepening our focus on women’s reentry programming and resources. Experiences like this continue to guide and inspire our work forward.
Thank you again to Chester County OIC for your leadership, dedication, and partnership. We look forward to continuing this important work together to create lasting impact for women and families across Chester County.
