Hey All. Hope everyone having an awesome summer! This Parisian, mid 19 th C. display cabinet was a true labor of love…like 30 hrs..had to remove brass inlay and the multiple generations of glues and poor repairs. Re create and cut multiple channels. Inlay the brass. Color and finish to match. Both metal and wood.

So its been a hot minute…and i am remiss in posting. Been busy and many projects could not share. But here is one to watch for the long haul. Circa 1898-1902 B.B.C table in for complete overhaul. The number one rule when working on antique billiard tables…set it up, and find what’s missing. This 10’ beast needs some love …but i’ll bring her back. Happy summer all!

A true labor of love on the restoration and conservation of this late 17th C. Bottle carrier, signed by maker, Paris. A great example of “Ebonisterie.” Real ivory inset into ebonized rosewood. Had to recreate missing veneer and inlay, stabilize, rebuild cornice that had been severely damaged when key was lost. Remove black paint and recreate original ebonized finish. Not perfect, nor should it be…from 1680’s…

A very sweet Empire piece/sideboard. A ton of veneer work. Some very heavy but very careful cleaning to get down to a late 19th C. varnish. Stopped there. To create uniform aesthetic. Possibly Philadelphia…would love input. Carvings certainly Quervelle or White inspired. Thanks to a patient client with trust. Took some time to clean correctly. Thanks to my metal smith Tim Coldren!

Hello Good People! Hope you all had fantastic holidays and Happy New Year.
It was an exceptional privilege to be asked to conserve and restore this Rose Valley library table. Wish i could share more photos…but here she is. To say rare, is an understatement…there is only one. This table was built by John Maene, circa 1906. Whether it was built at Shoppes of Rose Valley or not is unclear. It is unmistakable re. his hand work. What was unusual, in ref. to RV and Price furniture is that it was finished in shellac, originally. I did repair work. Then was able to conserve 90% of original color and finish to bases, stretcher and shelf. The top finish was rebuilt in shellac and wax. An honor to work on such a piece of art and history with such deep provenance. The table was built for Nathan and Anna Price Kite. Will Price’s sister. It was their library table at “Good Intent” their home in RV, where Anna also conducted a community school. Hence the book in the base. Awesome! Three big shout outs! First to my client who had the trust and faith to share this project with me. Ryan Berly, curator of Thunderbird Lodge, the museum of Rose Valley. And Tim Coldren for the skill and knowledge to replicate the missing hardware. Team work from ALL involved.

Hello All! Hope fantastic summer and happy Fall! Sorry for drop in posts, busy with many large projects, including this circa 1910 BBC Billiards table. Going to do something different and post several installments of same project. Please check out full process of complete restoration to such a pool table. They seem so massive and solid once installed, but really are comprised of minimally 24 parts not including pockets and hardware. on this first post and more photos to follow.

Hey All! Hope everyone had great summer! Have been working on several big projects over the summer…here is one that finally left the shop..after 35 hrs of incredibly detailed labor. Restored the veneer to this sideboard which was badly damaged due to leaking bathroom above. Saved 100% of original…which was only option because not possible to find 72”x 21” of single piece to match.
