19 years ago today, Americans experienced one of the most tragic events in our history. Let us never forget the 60 police officers, 8 EMT/paramedics, and 343 firefighters that lost their lives trying to save others. The last picture is a statue of one of WCU's alumni, Michael Horrocks. He copiloted flight 175 which crashed into the South Tower. Michael was a former WCU quarterback and a proud Marine.

Club Update:

We have made the decision to put Helping American Heroes on a hold this semester. We will likely not be hosting any virtual club meeting but may offer some events and ways you can stay connected to the community that we support. We will reconsider as time goes on with this pandemic. In the meantime, keeping checking our Instagram and Facebook for any updates and stay safe!

Thank you police officers!

Today marks the beginning of National Police Week which is celebrated until May 16th.

In 1962 President John F. Kennedy signed a Proclamation designating May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. Every year across this country Law Enforcement Officers, along with their family and friends, and citizens in communities large and small gather to remember and honor those men and women who have given the “ultimate sacrifice.”

We commend and say Thank You to the men and women of the West Chester Borough Police Department along with Police Officers around the world for putting your lives on the line each and every day to protect ours!

WCU’s Helping American Heroes club officers Hannah and Hally made 20 more masks for officers at the West Whiteland Township Police Department and East Whiteland Police Department. They got a special visit from Sgt. Jeff McCloskey of West Whiteland who took a socially distanced picture with them! Thank you to our police officers who continue to keep us safe! 🚔💙

Two of our officers Hally and Hannah Everett have been working hours everyday to donate as many masks as possible to healthcare workers, first responders, and military members! Keep up the good work, message us if you would like to donate a masks or money. Our first package is going to Andrews AFB today!
