Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Officer Arthur Scena IV as well as the Phoenixville Police family!

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that the Phoenixville Police Department must announce that we lost one of our own last night. Officer Arthur Scena IV died tragically in a vehicular crash in Warminster Township, Bucks County.

Officer Scena was born in Abington and was raised in Elkins Park, PA. He graduated from Cheltenham High School, Montgomery County Community College, and attended the Montgomery County Police Academy in 2010.

Prior to joining the Phoenixville Police Department in 2019, Officer Scena was employed as a correctional officer for the Montgomery County Prison and he worked as a police officer for the Philadelphia Housing Authority and the Chester City Police Department.

Officer Scena leaves behind a wife (Amanda), step-daughter (Riley), and daughter (Reece). Please keep his family, friends, and PPD colleagues in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

🔹 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 🔹

This month, we stand together to raise awareness about domestic violence and support those affected by it. You may have noticed the purple ribbon magnets on our patrol cars—these were provided by the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County(DVCCC) to all local law enforcement in Chester County.

The purple ribbon symbolizes our commitment to ending domestic violence and supporting survivors in our community. If you or someone you know is in need of help, please reach out to the DVCCC or local resources. Together, we can create a safer, more supportive environment for everyone.

🔒 October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! 🔒

Did you know that strong passwords are your first line of defense against cyber threats? This month, let’s focus on password security! Here are some key recommendations to keep your accounts safe:

Length and Uniqueness Matter: Choose long passwords that are unique to each account. They’re harder to crack than short, complex ones!

Memorable, Not Forgettable: Aim for very long passwords that you can easily remember. The longer, the better!

Skip the Note: Try not to write your passwords down or save them in unsecured places.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Whenever possible, enable MFA for an added layer of security. It’s a simple step that makes a big difference!

Stay safe online, and let’s keep our campus community secure! If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to us. 💻🔐
