As we have our first full week for Lakota Local Schools this week, we recognize some of our School Resource Officers. Today we have Officer Patrick Eilerman, who is in his 11th year as a SRO and his 24th year with West Chester Police.

He now serves at Creekside Early Childhood and Lakota Central High School. Prior to SRO duty, Officer Eilerman was on patrol 13 years, SWAT nine years and Honor Guard 11 years.

"It's completely different from traditional policing," Eilerman said of being on SRO. "You're seeing youth navigate a transition when they're growing into adulthood, and you're helping them along the way. It's very rewarding. It's the best job in the entire police department because you get to impact so many people on different levels."

Thank you, Officer Eilerman, for all you do!
