Support the unborn & their families when you vote
Fifty years ago, I stood alongside my friend, Congressman Henry Hyde, as we worked tirelessly to draft and pass the Hyde Amendment. We didn't do it for political theater; we did it to ensure that your conscience—and your wallet—would never be forced into a partnership with death.
The Hyde Amendment prohibits the use of your tax dollars to fund abortion. It has been renewed in budget negotiations every year since 1977. While the final version included exceptions that ALL has never supported, the original intent and purpose is to not allow taxpayer-funded abortion.
Today, I am horrified to hear the Hyde Amendment discussed as a "bargaining chip" by "pro-life" Republicans in Washington to get a "deal done" on the federal budget.
Let me be clear: The lives of the innocent are not for sale.
But we know for sure that the consciences, character, resolve, moral fiber, integrity, and beliefs of our "pro-life friends and politicians" in Washington are on sale by the hour.
Since Roe v. Wade, tens of millions of babies have perished through abortion in America. And despite Roe's overturning in 2022, abortions in our country have actually increased every year. This is a staggering national tragedy. Sadly, as we enter 2026, it seems our country drifts further and further into numbness. We have become desensitized to the silent screams of the most vulnerable. We have allowed the culture of death to shroud the truth in slogans and political convenience.
America must wake up.
As the National March for Life approaches on January 23, we demand that our leaders stand firm. We are not looking for "flexibility." We are looking for courage, resolve, and justice.
In 2026, American Life League will fervently continue its mission to awaken the hearts, minds, and consciences of our fellow citizens. We cannot simply "negotiate" around the destruction of a human being. We must restore the total sanctity of life, from the first moment of creation until death.
