Below is a statement from the NOAA National Hurricane Center - Shared by Brazoria County, in reference to potential Tropical Storm Arthur.
Tropical Storm watches have been issued for several coastal counties to include Brazoria County.
As with any hurricane season, please stay vigilant and prepared. Southern Brazoria County is expecting anywhere between 5”-10” of rain over the next several days and wind gusts potentially reaching 30-40 mph.
Storms like these we know all too well, however sometimes people still do not heed the warnings.
• Turn around, don’t drown. Do not drive into floodwaters.
• Slow down on roadways, especially wet ones. We don’t wanna stand in the rain working a crash because you pushed the gas instead of the brake 😒
• Check on your neighbors who may not be able to prepare. See if there is anything you can help them with.
• Secure any outside pets and let them inside for a few days.
As always, please be careful, cautious, and courteous. We will update as received.
Also please don’t go buy all the toilet paper. 🥴
