NATIONAL POLICE WEEK MEMORIAL SERVICE

During National Police Week, South Congaree's Sgt. Barber joined agencies from across the Midlands at the County of Lexington Law Enforcement Memorial Service to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Hosted by the Springdale Police Department on May 13,2026, the service was a meaningful time to remember, reflect, and give thanks. We honor their sacrifice and will never forget their service.

UPDATE: The pothole has been filled.

Traffic Advisory – Ramblin Road @ W Berry Road.

We have been made aware of a large pothole that has formed near the railroad tracks on Ramblin Road in the travel lane toward Pine Ridge.

We are actively working to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, an SCPD officer has placed a traffic cone at the location to alert drivers.

Please use caution when traveling through the area and reduce your speed.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

We want to echo our neighbors at Pine Ridge Police Department. Overnight, several unlocked vehicles in Pine Ridge were broken into.

Protect your car and home, especially if you’re away:
🔒 Always lock your doors
🏠 Take items of value inside
🚪 Close your garage doors at night too!
🛡️ Consider the South Congaree Police Department’s House watch program click the listed link for more information ! https://www.townofsouthcongaree.org/police-dept

LOCK EM UP.... Well, we are referring to your car.

Last night and early this morning, several unlocked vehicles in the Pine Ridge area were rummaged through with items taken.

🔒The #1-way people get into cars is unlocked doors.
Leaving valuables in plain sight is free advertisement.
🏠 If it’s important, take it inside.
🤔If you insist on leaving the car unlocked (again… why?), at least lock your valuables

🦹Criminals love unlocked doors. Let’s disappoint them. Don’t become a victim of a crime of opportunity. 🔐

We understand that people should be able to feel safe without having to think twice about locking their doors. Sadly, that is not always the case today.

Awareness and simple preventative steps can go a long way in reducing these incidents.

🔐 Protect Your Property. Protect Your Community.

The South Congaree Police Department would like to remind residents of a few important crime-prevention tips:

Most vehicle break-ins occur when vehicles are left unlocked.

Suspects often pull door handles and move on if the vehicle is locked.

Vehicles may be forcibly entered when items of value are left in plain view.

Secure all fi****ms, never leave them unsecured inside vehicles.

Lock garages and secure valuables at home.

🚨 See something suspicious?
Report it immediately by calling 911 so an officer can respond and the activity can be properly documented.

A few simple steps can prevent crimes before they happen. Thank you for helping keep South Congaree safe.

🎄 Spreading Holiday Cheer in South Congaree 🎄

This Christmas season, the South Congaree Town Council, Police Department, and Town Staff came together to adopt two local families, ensuring they experienced the joy and warmth of the holidays.

Gifts and essential items from the families’ wish lists including toys, clothing, and household necessities were generously donated. Thanks to the incredible support of our team, every request was fulfilled, and the gifts were delivered just in time for Christmas.

To make the season even brighter, Santa himself made a special visit to South Congaree, spreading smiles and holiday cheer throughout the town! A special thank-you to our local business Barrera Auto Sales for providing Santa with a ride, his sleigh had to stay at the North Pole for delivery preparations!

We are proud of our team for demonstrating what true community spirit and service are all about. From all of us at the Town of South Congaree, we wish you a safe and Merry Christmas!
